Who is the East Kootenay Brain Injury Association?

The East  Kootenay Brain Injury Association (EKBIA)  has been around since October 2001 and is a non-profit organization consisting of survivors of brain injury, family members and professionals, who provide a safe and supportive environment to assist survivors and their families and communities.  We are committed to enhancing the quality of life for persons living with the effects of Acquired Brain Injury (ABI).

We  promote prevention and provide education to survivors, family, friends and communities. A brain injury changes a person’s life and EKBIA provides opportunities and support for families, friends and caregivers to find answers to their questions and concerns.

Mission

EKBIA “supports and empowers individuals with brain injury and their families to achieve an improved quality of life in their own community”.
